RealSmart - Real Learning Suite [AS3, XML, AMF-PHP, PaperVision3D, FLEX SDK]

RealSmart is suite of tools aimed to help young people in education to demonstrate what they have learned. We have helped Smart Assess Ltd to evolve their flagship product from it's PHP based beginnings to the interactive user experience it has become. The suite comprises of a mind mapping tool, blog & website building tools, and a learning assessment tool. All of which have had new Flash based interfaces built by us.

Xoolometer Tool [AS2, MTASC, XML]

Developed for Xoolon Ltd as a tool for users of the Xoolon Academy service to enter their sporting scores. The Xoolometer has two modes (physical and mental) which can be used to record ratings (1-10), distances (m & cm), and times (minutes & seconds). The content is read and written dynamically from Xoolon's MySQL database.

Williams F1 Team Website (2007 Season) [AS2, MTASC, XML]

Contracted by Futurecorp of London to provide additional developer resource in the re-development of the Williams F1 Team's new Flash based website. The site launched at the beginning of the 2007 F1 season and has since been replaced for the 2008 season.

BBC Jam (Geography 14-16) [AS2, XML]

Flash development services provided to theWorkshop as part of the Geography (14-16) project for BBC Jam. Utilises the BBC's DC Components (v1.8). Sadly, this project was never completed due to the Jam service being suspended. It was originally due to launch in late 2007.

BBC Jam (Media Studies 14-16) [AS2, XML]

Flash development services provided to 3T Productions as part of the Media Studies (14-16) project for BBC Jam. The project featured lots of video content and utilises the BBC's DC Components (v1.7). Sadly, after months of hard work, this project was never launched due to the Jam service being suspended. It was originally due to launch July 2007.

Sheffield County Council Air Map Tool [AS2, XML, PHP]

Originally developed for Sheffield County Council's Care4Air website on behalf of Diva Creative. It's purpose was to inform users of the locations of Sheffield's air quality monitoring stations and members of Sheffield's clean air partnership. The data for each of the locations is loaded dynamically from an XML file and can be edited using the built in admin system. The tool was part of the site for over 2 years. Kim Stafford Associates Website [AS1]

Tim was contracted by Project Buro to develop a simple flash based website for their client, Kim Stafford Associates. The site was built to a tight deadline and budget.
 

AXA "Waistline Workout" Game [AS1]

Tim was asked to finish off this project for AXA Healthcare on behalf of a client. He was provided with an initial verision of the game and it was his job to develop it to completion. Initial game framework supplied by Dig for Fire.

Hippo & Monkey's Swamp Adventure [AS2]

A game aimed at children to help teach them about bearings. Tim was asked by Green Spaghetti to develop and implement their game concept, conceived whilst working with local school children. Graphics by Phil Alderson.

Fractions Card game [AS1]

A maths game to help teach about fractions, decimals and percentages. Designed and built by Tim and Phil whilst working at ACT e-Learning. Question content supplied by Anne Holt.

Coastal Erosion Simulator [AS1]

A tool to help teach about the factors involved in coastal erosion. In this game, you own a caravan park and have to make every effort you can to prolong the life of your park without upsetting management too much. Designed and built for BECTA by Tim whilst working at ACT e-Learning. Graphics by Bob Wolf.

Cocktail game [AS1]

Built by Tim whilst working at ACT e-Learning. Concept by ACT marketing team and Tim Cooper. Graphics by Phil Alderson.

BECTA Psychology - Mann-Whitney Tool [AS1]

A DHTML/Flash learning object for calculating a Mann-Whitney test based on data entered by the user. Built for BECTA by Tim whilst working at ACT e-Learning. Design and Concept by Heather Willis.
